Marcy is a 1973 graduate of George Washington University and a 1977 graduate
of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Following law school, she joined Liebert, Short, FitzPatrick & Lavin as an associate and later became a partner. She was a founding partner in the firm of FitzPatrick & Tanker, which later merged to become Monteverde, McAlee, FitzPatrick, Tanker & Hurd.

She has practiced exclusively in the area of civil litigation representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of personal injury and commercial cases. She has had substantial experience representing insurance companies in disputes involving managing agents, reinsurance and insolvency issues. In the past several years, she has limited her practice to the representation of health care providers in medical malpractice litigation.
